    Divorce mediation

Why West LA families choose mediation.

Mediation lets you and your spouse work out the terms of your divorce in a private setting with one neutral professional, rather than in a public courtroom in front of a judge. No opposing counsel filing briefs against you, no hearings on the court docket, no surprises.

    Spend Less

A mediated divorce typically resolves for a small fraction of what two opposing attorneys charge in a contested case.

Skip the Courthouse Confusion and Downtown Traffic.

The courthouse situation for West LA divorces is more complicated than most people realize. Santa Monica Courthouse historically handled family law for the Westside, but Los Angeles County has reassigned departments multiple times, and most West LA family law cases are now routed downtown to Stanley Mosk.

With mediation, you avoid this hassle altogether. Most West LA mediation clients never appear in court at all.

    Downtown Los Angeles

    Stanley Mosk Courthouse

    111 North Hill Street
    Los Angeles, CA 90012
    (213) 633-0252

Stanley Mosk Courthouse currently handles family law for most cases originating in the West Judicial District, including West LA, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Venice, Mar Vista, Culver City, Westwood, and surrounding Westside communities.

    Santa Monica

    Santa Monica Courthouse

    1725 Main Street
    Santa Monica, CA 90401
    (310) 255-2200

Santa Monica Courthouse still hears some family law matters depending on case type and judicial assignment, but the bulk of West District family law work has shifted downtown.
